2-1. System requirements
Hardware PowerMacintosh with 2MB space of memory, 10MB or over space of hard drive (HFS+ is recommended.) MacOS MacOS 8.0 or newer, TextEncoding Converter 1.31 or newer, Internet control panel is available. Internet config 1.4 or newer.)
To use Index search, MacOS 9.0 is required.For multilingual email Apple's Language Kit or localized version of MacOS is installed.

Accessible to SMTP and POP3 mail server.
Notice: Some kind of Japanese input method possibly changes the version of TextEncoding converter. This might cause problem to input of other languages. Confirm the version of TextEncoding converter.
2-2. Installation
Copy Magellan onto any place of your hard drive.
Because Magellan makes files and folders in the same directory of the Magellan application itself, don't move Magellan out of the Magellan folder.
To open Magellan easily, make Alias of Magellan and put it on your desktop.
The first time you double-click Magellan, picture splashes and Account window appears. The setting of your Internet control panel (or Internet Config) is automatically imported as default Account setting. Make change if necessary, then close the window. (If any account will not appear, read Account chapter of this manual.)
For Index search
To use Index search on MacOS 9.0 or newer system, do the following installation.
Drag & drop Magellan Extractor in the Magellan folder onto your start up System folder.
Magellan Extractor is copied into following destination.
Extensions: Find: Find by Content Plug-ins

Magellan allows licensee under the terms of agreement the following: The software Magellan and this manual (represented as "the product", below) is registered as the property of MAKI Enterprise Inc.. You can use the product on one computer only. To Copy or transmit also means translating to other language, transferring to other media, changing of the form of the document and analysis. This license agreement is effective till the disposal of the product. As soon as the licensee violates the conditional and intent of this agreement, the license it will be and is revoked without notification.
